It is very difficult to remain employed full time doing any of these things.
Will reliance on an informal economy now move up the class ladder?
Given the ways in which post-Fordism has changed the nature of work, and especially given the collapse of the social safety net, it seems likely that informal economic activity and gifts of care work will no longer be solely a survival strategy among poor people.
Can you think of examples of situations in which middle class families also make informal economies part of their livelihoods?
